World Map Project

The World Map Project was started in term 4 2019. Children from Holy Trinity have diverse backgrounds and have travelled and lived in many places around the world. Families were asked to send in photos from their travels & time overseas to add to the map. Educators have also added their photos to the map to spark further conversations with children.

The project had a slow start, with not many families sending in their photos. The project was promoted at the service, in the fortnightly program update emails, and in the end of term newsletter. More families began to send in their photos, and the result is a large wall display showing the various countries around the world that Kids Biz families & staff have travelled to. This is a great opportunity for conversations between children, and to learn about other cultures. Children are also able to use iPads to look up countries or places that they may be curious about.

As a further extension of the project, children will be able to use virtual reality headsets to "visit" countries on the map. New VR headsets were purchased in term 1 2019 and will allow children to virtually visit locations around the world, along with many other educations experiences.
